Malayan Tigers face a moderate level of endangerment due to the destruction of their environment
For twelve years, Malaysia Has witnessed the largest amount of deforestation out of most South Asian Countries. This eliminates the tigers habitat which brings their population down with the fall in resource abundance.
Poaching has also had a very negative impact on the population of the tigers. Because of their intricate design and their smooth fur, the demand for them is high which puts Malayan Tigers in the top quadrants of the poaching world. Their population number once ranged from 1000's-1250's within the late 2000's but due to negative factors, the numbers have dropped to 240-350.
